The ability to control size and volume fraction independelntly in microfluidic channels give access to a variety of regular strcutures. Above the volume fraction of a two-dimensional close-packed lattice, bubbles are forced to distort their circular shapes, and the flowing lattice becomes a dynamically assembled foam.
